Welcome to Brogansian Chihuahua's based in Northumberland, UK.
Here at Brogansian we have been passionate about Chihuahua’s from the time we purchased our first smooth coat. Since then we have increased our family of Chihuahua’s, allowing us to successfully compete in the show ring. Our primary goal is to produce dogs of excellent type, temperament and confirmation in the Brogansian line.
Showing my Chihuahuas started as a hobby, as I’ve always been interested in the betterment of all breeds of dogs. I thoroughly enjoy attending competitions where you are priviledged to see the finest specimens of the breed, though the winning dogs vary from Judge to Judge. This is due to the fact that each Kennel produces their own type, making them individual and identifiable from other kennels of the same breed.
Each judge will have their own preference on what they class as the correct type or the type that is closest to the breed standard. However, the main goal of all kennels is to strive to breed dogs that meet the breed standard and look for continuous improvement in their future generations, which can only benefit the breed. I thoroughly enjoy the show circuit, where I have been lucky enough to meet some lovely people, seen some beautiful dogs and formed some good friendships.
I have always been passionate about dogs and have owned a few breeds of dogs over the years. My obsession with exhibiting started when I owned my first Great Dane who introduced me to the show ring. Years later I purchased a bitch puppy from a reputable show kennel, though she was only shown lightly as a puppy; as an adult she grew too big, even compared to other dogs in her breed which ended her show career.
Amber died at the age of 9 in 2007, however we still own one Great Dane “Graham” who is Champion sired, along with our two Jack Russell Terriers Ellie and Rosie who all live happily with our Chihuahua’s. This site was created to document any successes my dogs achieve in the show ring and to monitor the creation and progression of the Brogansian line. The kennel name Brogansian was created using a combination of my Nieces names - Brogan and Siani.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank a few people; firstly my partner John for his understanding, hard work and dedication with our dogs and for his continued support in always helping me achieve my goals, whatever they might be. I would also like to say a big thank you to Johanna, whose dog sitting duties allow us to have holidays and the odd weekend away, just to say, we are always grateful Johanna and we thank you for the love and care you provide our dogs. Thank you also to Pam Tranter of Taradona Chihuahuas, who has demonstrated that there are top breeders in our breed who are more than willing to help, support and share their knowledge; thank you Pam for your time, patience and sound advise, it's always appreciated. And finally, thank you to all the judges who have thought so highly of our dogs. |
